Have you been watching X Factor? I've really been pulled into that show. I love the variety of contestants, and the way the mentors work with each singer. Last night's theme was thankfulness, and Drew Ryniewicz (who goes by her first name only as a stage name) sang "Skyscraper" (originally by Demi Lovato) to her best friend, Haley. Drew is 14, and seemed to be the only one who was most thankful for one of their friends. Other contestants sang about God, their parents, their sponsor, kids, and more.
It was a good night, and I liked the positive vibe brought on by the types of songs they sang. I also liked that Drew lifted her friend up by honoring her with a song. Sometimes when we list the things we're thankful for, family and faith come first, and rightly so. But our friends are so important, and it's nice to put them center stage sometimes.
