Jane Fonda Beautifully Writes About Her Friendship With Eve Ensler

I just caught this wonderful post from Jane Fonda about her friendship with Eve Ensler. (Ensler, for those of you that don't know, wrote "The Vagina Monologues," among others.) Fonda writes that Ensler came over for a visit and that "I begin to appreciate all over again the importance of my female friends. The bonds that we share with each other are so important to our overall health and well being. With Eve, I am immediately reconnected with my essentially optimistic spirit."

I love that phrase, essentially optimistic spirit, don't you? I think if you have a friend that gives you that, it must feel like getting totally recharged and renewed each time you're with them.

I also liked that Fonda talked about the importance of her female friends. As I wrote in my article about Women's Friendship Month, "Women are wired slightly differently than men emotionally, and friendship is a natural extension of that."

If you're lacking a few female friends, one place to start is a website that is focused on connecting you with other women. Luckily, there are plenty of them today. Each one is slightly different. Some help you get acquainted for more time online before you meet and others help arrange events where you can meet friends. Try them out and see which ones work for you.
