Being Honest With Yourself

Follow me on:

I was watching Piers Morgan on CNN the other night, and he was talking to Cee Lo Green. Love love love, Cee Lo. His voice is amazing. Anyways, Cee Lo really has an incredible backstory, and he talked a little bit about his life, his mom (who passed away tragically when he was just 18), and all the success he's had. One of the things he said really stuck out for me.

Cee Lo Green

He said that if you're honest with yourself, people have a harder time lying to you.

Think about that for a moment. Cee Lo was talking about fame (where everyone is trying to tell you what you want to hear just to get close to you), but I think this is something all of us can learn from. Being honest with yourself means that you understand the friendships in your life better. Maybe you begin to see that those people you want so badly to believe are friends really are just using you. Maybe those people you think are being hard on you are really the ones that love you and want the best for you.

Who is really your friend? Only you can decide that. But being honest with yourself is the first step to seeing the relationships in your life as they really are.
