Can a Friendship Rebound When One Calls the Other a Troll?

Remember when Charlie Sheen was mad at seemingly everyone involved with his former show Two and a Half Men? To the point that he called his costar Jon Cryer a troll? Well now it looks like he's regretting those words, or at least has a desire to put things right with Cryer.

Charlie Sheen and Jon Cryer

Sheen recently told Playboy that he "whaled" on Cryer "unnecessarily" and further said that he is "a beautiful man and a f**king fabulous dude and I miss him. I need to repair that relationship, and I will. I will reach out and do whatever is necessary."

I really have to applaud Sheen for admitting his mistake and for making a public statement that he'll try to patch things up. I wished he would have reached out to Cryer first instead of publicly, but I know sometimes in Hollywood it doesn't work that way.

I think one reason these two might be able to patch things up again is that Cryer kept the high road throughout the ordeal. He never retaliated, and that will make a world of difference going forward.

Too often when one friend behaves horribly (as Sheen certainly did), the other feels attacked (which is completely understandable) and as a result lashes back. Doing that, however, only makes both friends look bad. It's so hard to take the high road and not get involved in name calling and nastiness, but if you can hold off, I think you'll be happier for it in the long run. Even if Sheen and Cryer don't repair their relationship, Cryer will undoubtedly feel better that he didn't join in the verbal assaults.
