So many of you have written to me to talk about the rudeness of other people. I agree. It can be frustrating (to say the least) when people act without regard to your feelings or when they insist on making everything about them.
What does it mean to be rude? Dictionary.com says it is when you are:
discourteous or impolite, especially in a deliberate way
Being rude also prevents you from making a connection with someone else. If you behave poorly, you'll have a harder time making and keeping friends.
By far the biggest complaint I hear is about cell phone etiquette. This is a big one on your list of offenses. Friends who take calls or text while spending time with you is a big turn off. It makes you feel as if you aren't very important to them.
How do you respond when a friend insists on texting or calling while you're trying to hang out with them?
