Did you ever just feel as if you want to "give up" when it comes to finding new friends? Perhaps you've tried to meet new people without success, or tried to strike up conversation with strangers and been ignored. Maybe you put your trust in people who turned out not to be your friends after all?

These negative feelings can build to the point where you resist making new friends at all. But that's exactly the time you need to check your attitude and try again.

Look, getting dumped on by people is no fun. It can make you feel foolish just for trusting another person. But don't let a couple of lousy experiences ruin your chances for a good friendship. Finding good friends is not easy, but it is worth it. Don't give up.
