Well, it's official. The term "friend zone" is now in the dictionary. It's defined as an informal noun in which "a situation in which a platonic relationship exists between two people, one of whom has an undeclared romantic or sexual interest in the other."
I hate to argue, but I don't always think it's "undeclared." I think sometimes one friend will admit their feelings of attraction for the other but the friend will tell them they prefer to keep things platonic. There might be an awkward few months after that, but being straightforward allows both parties to understand the boundaries and move on to healthy relationships.
Ideally, anyways. We know it doesn't always happen this way.
Have you ever been stuck in the friend zone?
