I have to admit that while I love Facebook, my primary means of talking with my friends is through email or phone. A lot of my friends, however, are just the opposite. This was a problem in the past because I tend to pop on to Facebook, check things out in my feed, and log off. I don't always go to my friend's pages to see what's going on.
A few times, friends have posted very personal things that they wanted me to know about. Things like hospital stays, death in the family, and other life events, and I would have been there in a second if I'd known about them. But because Facebook was the only place they mentioned it, I found out after the fact. I finally had to make it clear to my friends that I want to hear from them, with a phone call or email.
Things have been much better since we came to an understanding about how we're going to use Facebook in our friendship. I'm curious if this is an issue in other friendships. Has this type of thing ever happened to you?
