Sharing $1 Million With Your Friend

By May 5, 2011

Follow me on:

I can't imagine winning a million dollars, can you? How about splitting that money with a friend? Yeah, that would be difficult. But two friends from New York did just that! Get this cute story: The friends, 75-year old Eula Webb and her pal, 80-year old Sam Cricci, went to the store to buy some milk. Webb actually encouraged Cricci to go out to the store with her to just get out and be active.

They each bought lottery tickets, and when they got home Webb scratched off hers: nothing. Cricci, however, won! He didn't just win any old amount, though, he won a million dollars! Is that unreal or what?

Even more unreal? He agreed to split it with his buddy, Webb! They had a pact that if either of them won they would share the jackpot. I thought that was great.

But there is another thing I really like about this story, which is that Webb encouraged Cricci to get out and be active. That kind of care, just saying, "hey, let's go for a quick walk to the store," is a wonderful way to nurture the relationship. It goes to show that keeping your friendship strong doesn't have to be intense or a burden. Just something simple like that can make all the difference.
